Un camión balsa para huir de Cuba

Doce disidentes cubanos intentaron huir a Estados Unidos el pasado 16 de julio tras construir una balsa con un camión modelo Chevrolet, fabricado en 1951, al que acoplaron una hélice al motor.

Después de cruzar con éxito las cuarenta millas (64 kilómetros) que separan la isla de las costas del estado norteamericano de Florida a una velocidad de 13 kilómetros por hora, los guardacostas estadounidenses obligaron a los doce cubanos disidentes a volver a la isla.

El jefe del Servicio de Guardacostas de Miami, Ryan Doss, informó de que era la primera vez que disidentes cubanos se habían ingeniado una balsa camión para huir de Cuba.

Doss puntualizó que, generalmente, los disidentes cubanos utilizan pequeñas balsas con neumáticos o balsas construidas con neveras o bañeras, entre otros artilugios construidos de forma artesanal.

Erinnert mich so ein bisschen an das Mauer-Museum in Berlin, da gibt es ja auch viele seltsame Vehikel!
